Course Duration 3.3  hours
Course Objectives The Preventive Maintenance of a PC WBT is the fourth course in the A+ 2003 Certification curriculum and caters to the A+ Core Service Technician Examination 2003. This course is designed to acquaint users with skills required to maintain customer satisfaction. This course also provides information regarding the active and passive preventive measures. Additionally, it provides information regarding methods used for preventive maintenance for various PC components, such as keyboard, mouse, monitor, printers, floppy drive and disks, and CD-ROM. After completing this course, the student will be able to:
  • identify the skills required to maintain customer satisfaction
  • identify the two types of preventive maintenance that should be performed by customers
  • list the active preventive maintenance procedures
  • list the passive preventive maintenance procedures
  • list the preventive maintenance methods of a keyboard
  • list the preventive maintenance methods of a mouse and a monitor
  • list the preventive maintenance methods of printers
  • list the methods of preventive maintenance of floppy disks and drives
  • list the methods of preventive maintenance of CD-ROMs and CD drives
  • list the measures for protecting your system from damage due to power failure
  • list the measures taken to conserve power
  • defragment your hard drive using the Disk Defragmenter tool
  • compress the available data using disk compression tools
  • optimize hard disk performance using ScanDisk
  • optimize hard disk performance using Disk Cleanup
